About Us

Welcoming All with Prayer, Purpose, and Peace

We’re a small but close-knit Muslim community right here in Moose Jaw—home to around 100 families. The Islamic Association of Saskatchewan, Moose Jaw came into being in 2004. Back in those early days (from 2004 to 2018), we operated out of a cozy little basement space in a mini-mall downtown. Humble beginnings, but full of heart. It was a space where we shared meals during Ramadan, taught our children how to pray, and supported one another through life’s ups and downs. That little basement laid the foundation for the warm and welcoming community we are today.

Today, you’ll find our Masjid at 73 Lancaster Road, just off Canada Highway 1. It’s not only our place for daily prayers but also a peaceful stop for Muslims passing through Moose Jaw. Many travelers have joined us here for a quick prayer or a heartfelt conversation over tea. If you’re traveling or just curious, check our website for up-to-date local prayer times, we’d love to see you.

Moose Jaw itself is a charming city in south-central Saskatchewan, nestled along the Moose Jaw River. It’s about 77 km (or 48 miles) west of Regina and is home to a growing population of about 33,000 people. Locals affectionately call themselves Moose Javians, and the community vibe here is friendly and welcoming. (Fun fact sourced from Wikipedia.)

Over the years, our community has grown, not just in numbers, but in spirit, connection, and purpose. Our Masjid isn’t just a prayer space—it’s where friendships are made, kids laugh and learn, and neighbors become extended family. Whether you’re new to Moose Jaw or just passing through, you’ll always find a warm salaam and a cup of chai waiting for you here.
